Comprehensive Immigration Reform

For decades, the Chamber has advocated for comprehensive immigration reform. Providing a standardized, legal, and safe pathway to citizenship is crucial to workforce availability and providing businesses with the talent they need to grow and compete.

Immigration is central to America’s success story. Our binational region is fueled by the diversity of our communities – the people, ideas, and welcome spirit that make San Diego and Baja a globally competitive economy.

The increasingly dangerous immigration enforcement operations taking place across the nation only reinforce what we have long understood: the absence of efficient immigration policies invites inconsistent enforcement and harmful outcomes.

The Chamber opposes unnecessarily aggressive, inhumane enforcement practices that create fear, destabilize the workforce, and terrorize and sow division within our communities. These excessive tactics are wholly counterproductive to achieving immigration reform and protecting national security. Such practices undermine economic stability and disrupt businesses and families.

These conditions underscore the urgent need for immigration reform, and the Chamber will continue to advocate for policies that avoid fear-based approaches, support economic stability, and allow both our businesses and communities to thrive.
